Jazz for Young People

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that 2015 brings you all much joy. This week I hit the ground running playing gigs around the city and teaching through Jazz at Lincoln Center's Jazz for Young People Program. This is my second year taking part in this wonderful program. Every school that signs up gets a visit three times a year from a jazz musician like myself. At the schools we talk to the students about topics such as Jazz and the Civil Rights Movement and Jazz in the Harlem Renaissance. I am fortunate to be a member of groups lead by drummers Jake Goldbas and Jerrome Jennings. Please check out the web links below to see Jerome and Jake talk about their programs in greater detail.
